Virtual Meeting – Notes from July 8, 2020
July 8, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and in alignment with the Town of Grimsby closures of all Town facilities, ALL GPG in-person gatherings (including monthly meetings and activities) have been cancelled.
Subsequently, a virtual meeting has been organized via ZOOM, where the following was presented/shared.
Members Presentations
Sanford Hersh – Eastern Europe Tour
Sanford took us through some interesting Eastern Europe cities, sharing a wide selection of photographs on historical sites, architecture, and city life. Sanford’s photos, originally taken with film, had been digitally converted by Downtown Camera, in Toronto.
Virginia Stranaghan – Evaluating Images
As a certified photo competition judge, Virginia shared valuable insights on how to examine our own images by evaluating specific criteria/ingredients that make a photo great. A lot of valuable insight!
Virginia’s presentation has been made available to our members via MailChimp.
A big THANK YOU to Sanford and Virginia for sharing their experience and knowledge with our Photo Group!
June Project of the month – What’s cooking?
We had a total of 37 great photos submitted by 20 participants. Thank you to all who shared their food-related experiences!
Participants to the Photo Project of the Month qualified for a draw.
This month, Bill Jarvie was the lucky winner of a $20.00 gift card from Casa Toscana, in Grimsby. Congratulations, Bill!
All submitted photos have been posted on our Website, under Gallery, and on YouTube.
July Project of the Month – It’s about time!
The theme of our next Photo Project of the Month is “It’s about time!” with a submission deadline of Sunday, August 9, 2020.
With our current COVID situation, time has taken another dimension! Let’s try to capture the passing of time while social distancing and engaging in limited activities.
