Who we are

We are a group of amateur photographers from Grimsby and Niagara West, getting together to share experiences, questions and know-how in a non-competitive environment.

Group History

Started in June 2016, The Grimsby Photo Group was at first a timid gathering of photo amateurs who were willing to share their love of photography. As time went by, attendance grew and the Group could no longer meet in tight quarters. A larger venue was found and meetings were held there until the end of 2017.

In 2018, the Group secured a new meeting place: Grimsby Town Hall Council Chambers.

In 2023, the Group will meet via Zoom for the Winter Months and then move to in-person meetings at various locations within the town of Grimsby.

Benefits of  joining this group

Monthly Meetings: Various presentations and discussions on the creative and technical topics of photography.

Social: Interact with other amateur photographers. Exchange ideas; help others and learn yourself.

Outings: Join other members on trips/visits. Opportunities to practice and learn more about photography.

Workshops: Taught by in-house photographers on various topics such as the art of photography, techniques, image management, creative output, software, etc.
