Tom Stirr Presentation – Notes from March 13, 2019

Travel photography at its best! Tom Stirr’s presentation “New Zealand Tip-to-Toe” was a delight and perfectly captured the spectacular beauty of that country. Thanks to all who attended and made this meeting a success.

Meeting Minutes

Date: March 13, 2019
Location: Town Hall Council Chambers, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Attendance: 35

Guest Speaker – Tom Stirr: New Zealand Tip-to-Toe

This was the second visit of Tom and again, he delighted us with a great selection of photographs covering both the North and the South islands of New Zealand. Each section was clearly identified on a map, followed by a series of nature and landscape photographs of the area.

Armed with several cameras, batteries and about 20 cards, Tom and his wife, Rosemary, intentionally traveled on secondary roads to capture the coastal breathtaking beauty and wildlife.

Tom and Rosemary took several trips to New Zealand and have immensely enjoyed their long stays. It seems that unpredictable weather and flooded narrow roads are part of the charm… Their trips have been meticulously planned, and include good paper maps, a compass, and accommodation cancellation options, just in case the weather decides to be uncooperative…

We thank Tom for his awesome presentation and hope he will visit us again in the future.
