Portfolio Review – Notes from May 30th, 2018
At this meeting, we reviewed photographs submitted by members of the Grimsby Photo Group and provided constructive feedback in a non-competitive environment.
Adobe Lightroom and Luminar 2018 softwares were used to support the analysis of images and discover opportunities for improvement. These applications allow for a visual learning experience and offer ideas that photographers can take away.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to our upcoming Fall Hands-On Workshop, presented by Ron Zabel.
Overall a fun evening.

Photo Review
In preparation for this session, each member was invited to submit 2 photographs of their choice. At the meeting, photos would be reviewed in a non-competitive and constructive environment, with a 3-minute allocation per photo for comments and possible improvements.
Twenty-two (22) photos were presented at the meeting, each being collectively reviewed as follows:
- What do we like about the picture?
- What adjustment(s) can we make for improvement, if any?
Using LightRoom, the group suggested ways to improve photos by cropping and enhancing highlights, contrast, saturation, etc.
An Editing Checklist was provided and will be sent via email to all attendees.
Attendees found the exercise valuable and were open to repeating it in the future.
