Long Exposure – Notes from April 10, 2019
Meeting Minutes
Date: April 10, 2019
Location: Town Hall Council Chambers, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Attendance: 29
With Ray and Anna travelling, a bevy of group members stepped up to support the April meeting activities. Thanks to Paul Jackson for handling the many details at the registration desk and getting access to the Town Hall facilities.
Long Exposure Photography
Ron Zabel welcomed everyone and introduced the topic of the evening, Long Exposure Photography.
Lynn Riding did a great job of explaining the various aspects of creating Long Exposure images, including some technical pointers that a photographer needed to consider to get started.
This was followed by member presentations of Long Exposure examples, illustrating their creativity with these techniques. It was noted that if the shutter speeds were too long, the essence of movement could be washed away.
Thanks to:
Hans Voorberg – Intentional Camera Movement and Long Exposure. “Key is having fun”
Bill Jarvie – Long exposure examples + use of iPhone for LE, stacking images to simulate LE
Dan Lessard & Marnie Stepanchuk – Long Exposure examples of all types
Lynn Riding – ‘I love waterfalls; There are so many in our area to capture” + Show and Tell – some tools and gadgets to help
