Grimsby Library Photo Contest – 2019
Celebrating a promising new generation of photographers
This Summer, the Grimsby Public Library organized a “Natural World Photo Contest” for children, under the leadership of Simone Saunders. The Grimsby Photo Group was invited to partner with them in this exciting new endeavour.
Children were divided into two age groups – 5 to 8 and 9 to 12 – and could provide up to two printed photos of their choice, based on the contest theme. At the end of the contest period, Grimsby Photo Group members selected a first and second winner in each age group and presented the winners with their prize.
In all, 44 pictures were submitted, and choosing the winners was no small task! With judging criteria like Adherence to the theme, Composition, Colour, and Creativity, the “Final Four” were selected, all deserving our congratulations and a big applause.
And the winners are…
All received a printed and framed copy of their photo, courtesy of the Grimsby Photo Group, as well as a lovely bag full of “goodies”, courtesy of the Grimsby Public Library.
We want to thank Simone for including us in this Summer project and hope to be part of it again next year!
