Still-Life / Abstract Station
Come and practice fabulous compositions focussing on colours, light, mood, lines, curves, and more! Bring your camera and your creative eyes.
This workshop will be a hands-on experience so that together we can learn the magic and skill that go into creating dramatic and beautiful still life photographs.
- Lighting Choices – flash, flashlights, natural, indoor lighting
- Subjects and prop ideas – what interests you, classic compositions, contemporary styles, high and low key
- Backgrounds Options – black and white plain drops, textures, fabrics
- Composition – the rule of thirds, negative space, odd numbers vs even numbers
- Inspiration – where do we get out ideas from, imagination, creativity, abstract ideas
- Thoughtful and deliberate – take your time – how to relax and get it right, your ideas
Workshop requirements
- DSLR or other cameras
- Tripod
- Flash and /or flashlight
- Bring one or two subject items such as pottery, vase, wine glass, fruit, old books, etc. – (don’t bring any valuable family heirlooms)
This is a hands-on workshop. Come and have fun!!
