Art Ward is an amateur photographer who enjoys nature photography, with an emphasis on birds.
About 15 years ago, he bought his first digital camera: a 2.1 megapixel Canon point and shoot. Today he has several Nikon cameras.
Art has been a member of the Hamilton Camera Club since 2010 and has risen to the level of a 5-star master. He has won several photo contests, beginning in 2005 when the Hamilton Bulldogs had a photo contest sponsored by Bell Arte Camera Store.
In the Fall of 2006, he won a contest from the Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario, and his winning photo was featured on the cover of their 2007 calendar.
In June of 2010, Art won a macro-themed photo contest sponsored by Bell Arte, winning over $1,000 in prizes. In June 2011, he won again; this time, the theme was landscape/nature. That was the last year Bell Arte had a photo contest.
In October of 2023, he won a pair of Kawa binoculars in a contest sponsored by Urban Nature stores.
Art has shown his photography to all the Garden clubs in the area, from Winona to Oakville. He has also presented his images several times at Orchard Terrace Residence in Winona, Shalom Village in Hamilton, and the Seniors Christian Coffee Club in Stoney Creek.
These days, he just sits in his backyard and admires the scenery.

Once a year, the Grimsby Photo group offers an opportunity to its members to showcase their favourite Photographs.
Members volunteer to share with the group a selection from their portfolio telling us stories about them.
A most enjoyable and fun evening not to be missed.
The Annual General Assembly (AGM) will also take place during the meeting and the members will have an opportunity to review last year's activities, and financial status and vote for a new Management Committee to lead the group.
