2021-10-13 19:00 - 21:00

Topic: “Photo Essay Creation”

Talk description:

Lance Gitter will provide an overview of how to create entertaining photo essays, starting with the concept of an a/v show (including software). He will outline basic principles of good a/v show presentations and demonstrate those principles with a number of his award winning photo essays. The evening will be an equal measure of “how to” and “entertainment”, aiming to inspire the audience to create shows and presentations to be shared with club members, families and friends.

Bio:

Lance Gitter is a well known photographer in the GTA and is a nationally certified CAPA judge as well as an accredited judge with the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs.  He has adjudicated for local camera clubs and international competitions.  He was a leader in the rapid and challenging transition from film to digital for the photo club community. He leads inspirational workshops and presentations at clubs and social organizations throughout Ontario.  For a number of years he chaired competitions for the Richmond Hill Camera Club and the Toronto Digital Photo Club as well as the interclub competition for the GTCCC (now known as the O3C), their umbrella organization in the GTA which in 2016 presented him with their inaugural service recognition award. He helped set up the online submission and judging software (known as “EntryWizard”) for CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art) and is a member of the CAPA competition team, specifically in the role of “EntryWizard Specialist”. He is an honourary life member of both the Richmond Hill Camera Club and the Toronto Digital Photo Club and was awarded the distinction of FCAPA by the national photo organization.  He is an award winning photographer in both still photography and in photo essay production.  He enjoys all genres of photography but his forte and passion is his creativity.
