Attendance: 38

With Guest Speaker Roger Hill
Capturing a small, very distant and warp-speed moving subject can be challenging. Adding to the challenge are some ever-changing elements like air movement, light pollution, clouds, weather conditions, as well as the huge timeframe between some celestial events.
For Roger Hill, all of this is thrilling! We felt his passion as he took us through his journey and unpacked his equipment, some tips and tricks, including the rule of 500.
About the 500 rule (giving you an approximate Shutter Speed)
- If you are shooting with a 50 mm lens (full frame sensor), the Shutter Speed will be 500:50 = 10 sec
Check our website, under Resources, for a detailed explanation of exposure rules.
So, what does it boil down to, other than passion, persistence and patience? The answer includes dark skies, dry skies, moonless skies, the right time of the year, a wide angle lens, a multitude of shoots… and a battery that never dies!
