These boots are made for photographers…
Despite little participation, our outing to the Bata Shoe Museum – held in conjunction with our “Funky Shoes” project of October – was a hit!
A journey through time provided ample opportunity to discover and photograph all kinds of footwear. What a treat!
There was something for everyone.
The “History Buff” could appreciate the many aspects of footwear through ages, exploring social and religious influences.
The “Naturalist” could learn how Artic footwear was created to face the challenges of the cold and harsh environment.
The “Glitter Lover” could explore the various cultural uses of golden footwear.
The “Fashionista” could marvel in the highly creative world of Manolo Blahnik.
During an interview on CNN, Manolo provided these bits of wisdom on steps to success:
- Check everything, at least twice
- Remember to have fun
- Be curious
- Keep going
- Be true to your style
Would you agree that these principles also apply perfectly to photography?
Every outing also provides an opportunity to socialize and this one was no exception. After an intense “museum” session, we headed for Italian food in Yorkville, followed by gelato. What else can you ask for? Well… more outings, of course!
Happy clicking to capture more “ Funky Shoes »…
