Virtual Meeting – Notes from September 9, 2020
September 9, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and in alignment with the Town of Grimsby closures of all Town facilities, ALL GPG in-person gatherings (including monthly meetings and activities) have been cancelled.
Subsequently, a virtual meeting has been organized via ZOOM, where the following was presented/shared.
Guest Speaker Presentation
Architecture and Minimalism are photography genres that our guest speaker, Wayne Fisher, is passionate about.
Wayne’s journey in photography started at an early age in South Africa, where he obtained a National Diploma in Photography. With now over 25 years of experience in event, sports, commercial Photography and Fine Art Black and White Architectural Photography, Wayne shared an incredible portfolio of his stunning work and provided a wealth of insights.
A BIG thank you goes to Wayne for inspiring us to change our point of view, look for patterns, use negative space, and not be afraid to be creative by breaking some established rules.
August Project of the month – Money Talks
We had a total of 32 great photos submitted by 18 participants. Money definitely stirred participants’ imagination and creativity! Well done.
Participants to the Photo Project of the Month qualified for a draw.
This month, Kathy Ward was the lucky winner of a $20.00 gift card from Station 1, in Grimsby. Congratulations, Kathy!
All submitted photos have been posted on our Website, under Gallery, and on YouTube.
September Project of the Month – Curves “R” Us
The theme of our next Photo Project of the Month is “Curves “R” Us” with a submission deadline of Sunday, October 11, 2020.
This month’s guest speaker certainly provided ample examples of architectural curves. Let’s continue this “curvy” exploration on our own…
