Virtual Meeting – Notes from June 10, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and in alignment with the Town of Grimsby closures of all Town facilities, ALL GPG in-person gatherings (including monthly meetings and activities) have been cancelled.

Subsequently, a virtual meeting has been organized via ZOOM, where the following was presented/shared.

Members Photo Share

We had two members who presented a series of photos and the story behind them.

Dan Lessard – Cuba & Dominican Republic

Dan took us through scenes of Havana and the Dominican Republic and shared his love for cars and street photography. Crisp and vibrant colours illuminated the screen while he took us through some highlights of his trip to those locations. Really delightful!

Marnie Stepanchuk – Street photography

Marnie has a keen eye for street photography, capturing meaningful moments in time. Strolling in the streets of New York City and urban landscapes provided her with the “live material” she really enjoys and is passionate about. Regardless of the location, Marnie photos display both her talent and her empathy for people.

A big THANK YOU to Dan and Marnie for sharing their fantastic photographic experiences!

May Project of the month – Spring is here!

We had a total of 55 great photos submitted by 28 participants. A wonderful participation from our members during this time of confinement!

Participants to the Photo Project of the Month qualified for a draw. 
This month, Cindy Gardner was the lucky winner of a $20.00 gift card from Coles Nurseries in Grimsby. Congratulations, Cindy!

All submitted photos have been posted on our Website, under Gallery, and on YouTube.

June Project of the Month – What’s Cooking?

The theme of our next Photo Project of the Month is “What’s Cooking?” with a submission deadline of Sunday, July 5, 2020.

Have you tried new foods and/or recipes while spending more time at home? Show us your delectable finds or creations!

Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meetings will continue to be offered to members only via ZOOM until further notice.

Photo Project-of-the-Month

• All Photo projects of the month will be carried out as usual. A maximum of two NEW (2) photos can be submitted via wetransfer.com to grimsbyphotogroup@gmail.com. We will prepare the usual slideshow and share it via ZOOM with all virtual attendees on the day of our scheduled monthly meeting.
• Our traditional draw will be maintained, but the two following restrictions will apply:
  • • Members will have to be in attendance to receive their prize.
    • Winners will NOT be included in the draw of the following month.

The OCCC is now offering this workshop as a Webinar to all our members!
