Photo Share with Printed and Matted photographs
It was a first for our group and a resounding success. With 19 participants and 36 printed and matted photographs, we could only be proud! The floor was given to those who wanted to share their experience in Street Photography and their adventures (or misadventures) in printing and matting their work. Many participated and their candid short presentations provided learning lessons for all of us.
Those who submitted a photo for the Photo Project of the Month qualified for a draw. The prize was a $20.00 gift card from Tim Horton’s. The lucky winner was Fred Bellinato. Congratulations, Fred!
Check our website, under Gallery, to see all submitted photos.
November Project of the Month – Lights and Shadows
With the December break, a longer timeframe is allowed to submit pictures for this last Photo Project of the year!
The theme of this Project of the Month is “Lights & Shadows”, with a submission deadline of Sunday, January 5. Look for wonderful light and shadows during the many sunny days ahead… and capture the bright holiday season!
Constitution
While remaining casual and non-competitive, our group is growing and the need was felt to provide a structure that better supports our ongoing activities.
Graham Sweeting took on the task of looking into our governance and prepared a document (“The Constitution”) that was submitted during the meeting. Graham provided the background of his work and opened the floor to questions. A motion to carry out was accepted by Art Wart and seconded by Dave Coleman. Members then voted and the motion was carried.
This document will allow us to open a bank account.
Raffle
A raffle is always fun. This time, we raffled a signed copy of Freeman Patterson’s Book, and we hope the lucky winner will be inspired by this now legendary Canadian photographer!
Annual Festive Luncheon
This year, our Luncheon has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 11 and will take place at Just Cooking, in Vineland.
A fixed menu has been set for $25.00/person, drinks being extra. This includes a soup or salad for starters, a choice between 3 entrées, and dessert platters to share. Tea or coffee is also included.
An email will be sent to register, and a final number of attendees will need to be provided to the restaurant by December 8.
We hope to see you there! Door prizes await…
A glimpse of 2020
All 2020 monthly meetings will be held at the Grimsby Town Hall Council Chambers, on every 2nd Wednesday of the month. No meetings will be held in August (Summer Break) and December (Holiday Break).
January will start with a bang with Jason DiMichele as a guest speaker. The topic of Jason’s presentation will be “Embracing Simplicity”. Check him out at www.jasondimichele.com
