Despite the winter storm and icy roads, our February meeting was a success thanks to all who attended.

Again, we focussed on composition, and there is so much to learn!

Composition – Part 2

As we focus on composition again during this monthly meeting, we continued viewing some learning videos on the following topics:

  • Diagonals
  • Triangles and curves
  • Frame within a frame
  • Continuity / Leading lines

We also examined how to “Find the subject”, a CreativeLive video with Art Wolf.

January Photo Project of the Month – Winter Wonders

With 25 participants, the beauty of winter was definitely showcased!

Those who submitted a photo for the Photo Project of the Month qualified for a draw. Again, the prize was a $25.00 gift certificate from Framecraft Ltd. The lucky winner was Michael Groves. Congratulations, Michael!

February Project of the month

The theme of our next Photo Project of the Month is Romantic Vibes, with a submission deadline of March 10, 2019.

All photos will have to be submitted as follows:
Email to grimsbyphotogroup@gmail.com
Email title: Submission + Project name + participant name (example: Submission Romantic Vibes – Anna Fragapane)

Announcements

Back to the Garden” – The Lakehouse Pumphouse Artists’ Association has invited the Grimsby Photo Group to have a presence at this event organized by the Grimsby Public Art Gallery.

We could, as a group, have a reserved table, and would be publicly recognized by the organizers. Participation fee is $35/person. Pamphlets were distributed during the meeting.
